What is the terrain like? Are there any obstacles to be avoided or coped with? What is the weather likely to be? - Hostile Forces
Is there an enemy or are there competitors who you have to avoid or beat? What are they likely to be doing? Where are they likely to be going? - Friendly Forces
Is there anybody around doing similar things who can help you? What are they trying to do?
- Aim
You need a simple statement of the aim of your plan. This might be 'To climb the mountain' or 'To capture hill 132'. By keeping the aim simple, you give subordinates the scope to use their initiative. - Execution
This is where you detail who is to do what, when, where, why, and how. - Resources
Here you can detail the resources available to assist execution of the plan, where equipment may be found, etc. - Command & Control
How are you going to control the plan? What signals are you going to use?
