Paramedics, after training in their particular area of specialization, can work in hospitals, clinics, private nursing homes, public health organizations, research institutions, pharmaceutical concerns and medical institutions controlled by the defense, and the central and state governments. They can also opt for teaching.
Medical technologists can work in medical laboratories as laboratory technicians. Radiographers and X-ray technicians are employed in the X-ray and ultrasound departments of medical institutions and clinics. Orthotic and prosthetic engineers can also work in private surgical firms, which are involved in manufacturing artificial limbs and other such structures.

Patience, a systematic and logical way of thinking, diligence, perseverance, good eyesight, accurate judgment, precision, a methodical approach, a calm temperament, an understanding of people of all ages, temperaments and backgrounds, a sympathetic, yet objective approach towards the patients, tolerance, devotion, a strong willpower, strength of mind and purpose, spirit for teamwork, good powers of observation, the ability to infuse confidence in patients, a strong scientific and technical bent of mind, and dexterity and self-confidence. Radiographers, especially, should not be allergic to chemicals.
FUTURE PROSPECTS
Prospects in the paramedical services are extremely bright especially since the need for professional and technical work, in the various medical centers is increasing. With the introduction of newer sophisticated machinery, medical technologists are required not only to handle the equipment; but also to constantly upgrade their skills. The number of such specialists is less and, therefore their demand is immense.
