They know when to deal with a skin complaint themselves or when to tell a customer to see a doctor. Though different treatments require separate specialized skills, most beauty therapists in India have a working knowledge of a range of treatments. Areas of specialization include:

· Manicurist: Takes care only of the hands.
· Pedicurist: Takes care of the feet.
· Electrologist (epilatiomist): Uses various means to remove unwanted hair.
· Masseur (masseuse): Performs face and body massage.
· Aroma Therapist: Massage with aromatic oils.
HAIR DRESSING:
Uses a range of techniques to make hair look healthy and attractive. These include scalp massage,
shampoo; hair setting; styling and trimming-as well as other treatments like perms; henna; dyeing and coloring. Hairdressers are also required to know about the care and application of hairpieces, wigs and other accessories. They advise clients on the right choice of hairstyle and care and maintenance of their hair.
