From its earlier image of an exclusive domain for graduates from public schools and elite colleges, the civil services have now broadened their outlook and opened their doors to a greater cross-section of candidates. While the numbers recruited are not likely to change in the near future, and reports of political corruption have disillusioned some people; it is still an excellent career for young people of integrity, who wish to do something for their country and its people.
