The remuneration of commercial artists varies. 
Commercial artists designing magazine covers etc. start with a salary of Rs 2,000-3,000 per month.

At a senior level they can draw as much as Rs 10,000-11,000 per month.
Freelance commercial artists can draw anything between Rs 2,500-15,000 or more depending upon how established they are. 
Academies such as the Lalit Kala Academy etc. reward artists for exceptional work. These awards enable young talented artists to gain recognition.
