Remuneration

The starting salary for plastics technologists in the public sector is in the range of Rs 3,500 to Rs 5,000 per month. In the private sector, starting remuneration for plastics technologists can be in the range of Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 per month, whereas for those with an M.Tech. qualification, the initial remuneration can be as high as Rs 7,000 to Rs 9,000 per month.

The work requires a lot of concentration and accuracy. Meticulous attention to detail is required, particularly while working in the laboratory/factory.

Though there is a lot of hard work in the profession, it is also materially very rewarding. Plastics technologists are in heavy demand in the industry and therefore, they are very highly paid.
