Remuneration

Qualified architects start at a salary of Rs 2,000-3,000 or Rs 2,200-4,000 in government organizations. 

The Council of Architecture has laid down a standard scale of remuneration for services. This is calculated at a percentage of the tendered cost of the project, and ranges from one per cent to ten per cent depending on the structure and the job undertaken. Often this percentage fee extends to other construction services too. 

Engineers start with a salary of Rs 2,000-3,500 and Rs 2,200-4,000 per month.

PRESSURES

All building activity is a coordinated effort of several disciplines, and therefore the pressures of handling different specialists and there can be stressful for all concerned: Moreover, much of the manual work is handled by unskilled casual labor that can be indisciplined, irregular and difficult
to handle.
